Love Aromatherapy? You’ll Love Herb Vaporizers Too!
February 21, 2010 – 8:42 pmSome people who wish to improve their well being choose to use herb vaporizers in many different ways. One of the more popular ways to use vaporizers is for aromatherapy. Aromatherapy is another type of alternative medicine. It uses essential oils, which are concentrated liquid extracts from plants. Aromatherapy is used primarily to improve a person’’s sense of well being, mood, and health. This form of alternative medicine has been practiced for thousand of years; and although the basic process has remained the same, the tools used to achieve the desired effect have changed rapidly throughout the years.
The most effective way of aroma dispersal is through the use of an herbal vaporizer. Herbal Vaporizers have increased in popularity in the health care and wellness industry because they effectively give out or disperse the active ingredients of a plant. Herb vaporizers only release the good parts of the plant, without releasing harmful by products of combustion methods like smoke and tar.
Vaporizers work by releasing hot air through the plant material or oil to release the active ingredients and aroma so that they are more efficiently and conveniently drawn into the lungs, making it possible to create an almost instant effect. There are no known harmful effects of aromatherapy in general, but some people may be allergic to certain scents and have to watch out for those.
These vaporizers are excellent tools to cure or help relieve bronchial problems and the essential oils from certain plants may help greatly in clearing a person’’s airwaves and improve their breathing. There are also pads available in the market that could be used with vaporizers. These pads contain essential oils that have medicinal qualities and may be used for aromatherapy, or to cure some medical condition. Lastly, there are portable vaporizers, which lets you bring in the aromatic goodness everywhere you go.
One example of a great aromatherapy oil to relieve air passages in cases of flu or cold is eucalyptus, especially if this is used in conjunction with peppermint or spearmint oils. Another example is jasmine. Jasmine essential oils have been known to help people relax, and are actually considered aphrodisiacs. Using these oils through vaporizers and the vaporizing process makes the aromatherapy process more effective, efficient, and safe.
Since vaporizers are really effective ways of dispersing aroma in the air, they have been all the rage among those who practice this alternative form of medicine. However, you must still remember to follow guidelines. You can not just open your spice rack and fill your herb vaporizers with herbs that are meant for cooking. In the same way, massage oils may smell great but may not work well with vaporizers. There is a surprising number of essential oils manufactured for the sole purpose of vaporizing through a machine. Make sure that the oils you use are created for this purpose, if you really want to maximize the effect of your vaporizer.
